About the Workshop: The aim of the workshop is to disseminate the benefits of protecting research outcomes through IPR. The workshop instigates the passion for research in lifesciences and using IPR as one of the potential tools to measure its outcomes. The workshop shall bring out some of the interesting case studies in the field of pharmacy, biotechnology and chemistry.

Resource Person: Dr. Amitavo Mitra is an Associate Partner with Saikrishna & Associates, a full service law firm with offices in Delhi and Mumbai. Dr. Mitra obtained his PhD in 2011 in biological sciences from Dartmouth College, and has done his post-doctoral fellowship at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He is also a registered patent agent and obtained his LLB from Delhi University and is a registered advocate with the Delhi Bar Council. He advises clients, ranging from academic institutions, individuals, start-ups, to medium-to-large companies on patent portfolio development, management, and patent strategy. He has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution particularly in the domain of life sciences, and pharma.
