Division of Research and Development and Department of Molecular Biology and Genetic engibeering, School of Bioengineering and Biosciences under the aegis of Lovely Professional University is organizing 2nd International Conference on Plant Physiology and Biotechnology (ICPPB) from 21st -22nd April 2023. The 2nd ICPPB will provide the cutting edge research in the field of plant physiology and will address a wide range of topics in emerging trends in plant physiology and biotechnology, covering different aspects presented and discussed at the conference, such as advances in plant regeneration, regulation of biotic and abiotic stress responses by plant hormones, biostimulants and biofertilizers, plant signaling, plant epigenetics, plant-microbe interaction plant genome editing, cryopreservation for and agricultural biotechnology and crop improvement.

Objective Of The Conference

  • The main objective of the conference is to provide a unique platform to facilitate the scientists, researchers, academicians, industrialists, and students to share the recent advancements and the challenges in the all aspects of Plant physiology and Biotechnology
  • To exchange Innovative Ideas among the researchers in the area of Plant Physiology and Biotechnology from all around the world.
  • To provide an opportunity for national and international experts and industry leaders to share their experiences and success stories.

Special issue on Emerging Trends and challenges in Plant Physiology and Biotechnology

This special issue will facilitate rapid and wide dissemination of research results and promote application and further development of cutting edge research that is presented as extended papers at the 2nd International Conference on Plant Physiology and Biotechnology (ICPPB) to be held in Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India, on 21st−22nd April 2023. The selected contributions will address a wide range of topics in emerging trends in plant physiology and biotechnology that are presented and discussed at the conference. Conference attendees and their co-authors are welcome to submit original research and review articles presented at the 2nd ICPPB 2023. Papers selected for this special issue will be subject to peer-review to ensure high standards.

Johannes van Staden is a Director of the Research Centre for Plant Growth and Development. Prof van Staden has been a Research Fellow at University College of Wales, University of California, Davis, National Australian University, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Broom’s Barn Experimental Station in the UK, and University of West-Hungary from which he holds an Honorary DSc. He works in the fields of plant hormones, seed germination, senescence, stress physiology, post-harvest physiology, biotechnology and plant tissue culture, ethnobotany, secondary products and ethnomedicine. Prof van Staden has supervised 90 MSc and 108 PhD students and 93 Post-Docs. He is the author/co-author of 1504 papers published in ISI rated journals. In 2002 he fell within the top 0.5% of Internationally most cited authors. Prof van Staden is the Editor-in-Chief for South African Journal of Botany and Associate Editor for Acta Physiologia Plantarum, Frontiers in Pharmacology and many other journals.
